Dan Hudson joins Seladore Legal

11 April 2023

Seladore Legal, one of London’s leading law firms for major and complex litigation and arbitration, is pleased to announce the launch of its white-collar and regulatory disputes practice. Dan Hudson, formerly a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills, joins Seladore as Partner today.

Dan has over 20 years of experience as a white-collar crime and financial regulatory specialist. He advises and represents clients on matters relating to high-value fraud and regulatory investigations, as well as issues concerning money laundering, bribery, and sanctions. He has advised on some of the most notable financial regulatory cases in recent years, including ICBC Standard Bank’s entry into the UK’s first-ever deferred prosecution agreement.

In joining Seladore, Dan reunites with several former HSF colleagues, including Senior Partner Simon Bushell, as well as Partners Gareth Keillor, Kevin Kilgour, and Gary Milner-Moore – adding to a stellar line-up of highly experienced lawyers specialising in complex, multi-party, multi-jurisdictional disputes.

Dan Hudson, Partner at Seladore, commented:

I am excited by the prospect of building a practice at Seladore, and emulating their success in establishing themselves quickly as a go-to firm in the London disputes market.

Simon Bushell, Senior Partner at Seladore Legal, commented:

Dan is a top legal mind and a trusted advisor in the corporate crime and contentious regulatory market. Understanding financial crime for a firm like ours goes well beyond corporate compliance. Allegations of criminal conduct are a regular feature in large scale civil disputes and navigating the overlap is increasingly necessary.

His arrival is a huge coup for the firm. He is among the best in his field and will undoubtedly be an asset as we strive to maintain the exceptional growth trajectory of the past three years.

Seladore’s senior team all have a shared history at HSF, with Dan Hudson being Seladore’s fifth Partner to have passed through the elite international firm. Seladore Senior Partner Simon Bushell spent 26 years at HSF, having established its Russia and CIS disputes practice and led its civil fraud team. He subsequently became Chair of the Litigation Department at Latham & Watkins in London.
