Dan Hudson, who heads Seladore’s White Collar and Regulatory Disputes practice, has particularly extensive experience assisting international law firms, Big Four accountants, auditors, and other consultants on a range of critical issues.
These include internal and external fraud investigations focusing on firm personnel, bribery, corruption, and money laundering investigations, as well as sanctions and related internal matters. His expertise encompasses demonstrating to insurers and banks that independent legal advice has been obtained, ensuring thorough and compliant handling of these complex issues.
Dan’s Professional Services experience includes:
- Interpretation and applicability of sanctions restrictions, prohibitions, and licences.
- Licence applications and reporting obligations to OFSI.
- Handling historic fees from Designated Persons and related legal advice under the Legal Services General Licence.
- Sanctions issues related to conducting business in Russia/Belarus, including the Legal Advisory Services restriction and the General Trade Licence.
- Assisting clients with blocked interest payments on bonds due to EU sanctions.
- Advising Russian trustees in bankruptcy on asset tracing for Designated Persons.
- Managing liability risks for international law firms advising lenders to Designated Persons, including obtaining independent liability advice.
- Providing bribery, corruption, and money laundering reporting advice to Big Four auditors for issues at audit clients.
- Supporting US international law firms with UK police and SRA investigations into Ponzi schemes and related civil claims.
- Advising the London offices of US international law firms on AML issues, including money laundering suspicious activity reporting under POCA.
