David Gilmore is a Partner in Seladore Legal’s international arbitration and cross-border disputes practice.
David brings more than 20 years’ experience advising Japanese and international corporates on complex, high-value disputes across Asia, the UK and the United States.
David spent over two decades practising in Tokyo, where he led the international disputes practice at Herbert Smith Freehills. His work spans major international arbitrations, commercial litigation, internal investigations and regulatory matters, including issues involving fraud, corruption and anti-bribery compliance. He has particular experience advising on disputes arising from Japanese investment into Southeast Asia, especially in the energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and technology sectors, with arbitrations frequently seated in Singapore and Hong Kong.
David is qualified in England and Wales. He is a member of the SIAC and JCAA panels of arbitrators and served on the Advisory Board of the Japan International Dispute Resolution Centre while resident in Japan.
