Edith is a disputes lawyer with experience acting for multinational companies and sovereign nations in complex commercial and civil fraud proceedings. She also has experience in IP, regulatory and insurance proceedings.

Prior to joining Seladore, Edith worked at a specialist litigation firm in London. At this firm Edith represented a sovereign state in a three-month civil fraud trial in the Commercial Court.

In New Zealand, Edith worked at a specialist disputes firm for three years before joining a leading insurance litigation firm. At these firms Edith advised on wide range of matters including commercial disputes, regulatory proceedings, intellectual property disputes, and professional negligence claims.

Edith has appeared before the High Court and the Court of Appeal in New Zealand.

Edith graduated from the University of Auckland with a BA LLB and was enrolled as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2016.

  • Acting for the Republic of Mozambique in the Tuna Bonds litigation.
  • Acting for Eight Mile Style in proceedings against the New Zealand National Party for the unauthorised use of “Lose Yourself” (Eminem) in campaign advertisements (Eight Mile Style, LLC v New Zealand National Party [2017] NZHC 2603, New Zealand National Party v Eight Mile Style, LLC [2018] NZCA 596).
  • Acting for a multi-national retailer in respect of a Commerce Commission prosecution for misleading and deceptive conduct in trade (Commerce Commission v Bunnings Limited [2020] NZCA 310, Commerce Commission v Bunnings Limited [2021] NZDC 8918).
  • Acting for a trustee facing allegations of negligence and breach of duty in a NZ$50 million trust dispute.
  • Bringing derivative action proceedings in respect of a pharmaceutical joint venture.
