Jade is a commercial disputes lawyer with experience of advising clients across a range of sectors and geographies on complex multi-jurisdiction and multi-party matters.
Jade has advised on arbitrations and disputes before the English courts and elsewhere, on matters including contractual, banking, civil fraud, trust and private wealth disputes.
Her clients have included high net worth individuals, corporates, banks and other financial institutions.
Jade trained at Herbert Smith Freehills and qualified into the firm’s Dispute Resolution department where she was a Senior Associate, specialising in general commercial litigation and trusts and private wealth disputes.
Prior to joining Seladore Legal, Jade was Senior Legal Counsel at one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds by assets under management. Her in-house experience also includes secondments to the litigation teams at Abrdn and BNP Paribas.
- Advising a cryptocurrency exchange in relation to various contentious matters, including a contractual dispute with a payment services provider and responding to applications for injunctive and Norwich Pharmacal relief.
- Advising Single Buoy Moorings Inc on its US$1.3 billion construction all risks insurance claim concerning the Yme platform in the North Sea before the English Commercial Court.
- Advising a UK bank in relation to potential disputes with former employees regarding bonus entitlements.
- Advising a Russian bank in relation to multi-jurisdiction litigation involving applications for freezing injunctions and representing the bank in an arbitration relating to debt claims.
- Advising a UK investment company in relation to an email fraud and subsequent Mauritian LCIA arbitration against its administrators for breach of contract and professional duties.
- Advising an international bank on trust law and litigation risk matters in relation to potential mis-selling claims.
- Advising trustees of a UK charity on potential claims for breach of trustees’ duties and charities law in relation to a significant pension deficit, including in relation to interactions with the charities regulator (the Charity Commission).
- Advising the Royal Bank of Scotland and its former directors in their defence of a prospectus liability claim by a large group of investors in connection with the bank’s £12 billion rights issue in April 2008.
