Seladore opens for business in Milan

5 September 2024

Seladore Legal is pleased to announce that it has opened for business in Milan, focusing in particular on international arbitration.

Milan is home to multinational companies such as UniCredit, ENI, Moncler, Campari, Saipem, and EssilorLuxottica. The city has also seen a substantial inflow of high-net-worth individuals in recent years attracted by Italy’s favourable tax treatment for foreigners.

Seladore’s Milan office will be led by partner Laurence (Larry) Shore, who recently joined Seladore from a leading Italian law firm in Milan. He brings a wealth of experience in handling complex commercial and treaty disputes for a diverse range of clients, including multinational corporations, financial institutions, sovereign states, and high-net worth individuals. Before coming to Milan, Shore was at Gibson Dunn in New York and Herbert Smith Freehills in London (and New York).

His expertise spans multiple arbitration rules, such as ICC, LCIA, ICDR, ICSID, AAA-Commercial, UNCITRAL, and the Swiss Arbitration Centre. Shore is an English-qualified solicitor and a member of the New York, District of Columbia, and Virginia Bars.

Simon Bushell, Senior Partner at Seladore Legal, commented:

Milan is a vibrant financial hub and central to a major economy. It is natural to expect our exceptional dispute resolution services to be sought by Italian clients, particularly those engaged in complex cross-border matters governed by English law. With Larry’s connections in Milan and the firm’s track-record in complex commercial disputes, we are well-placed to meet the growing demands of a truly global client base.
